A new year begins, and with it comes a new year of trends in the engagement ring world. At Lauren B, we see some of the most diverse shape and design combinations created for our clients all over the world! Here are some of the features we think will see a huge surge in 2019!
5. Thicker Bands
While delicate bands have maintained their status as one of the most popular engagement ring features, we think that thicker options (larger pave, multi-row bands, twisted styles) are an up and coming trend as well! They offer added shine as well as support, which will help you enjoy your ring for years to come. Thicker bands can also be pave set to help maintain a low profile appearance of the diamonds set on the band.
4. Unique Halos
At Lauren B, we specialize in creating seamless halos – but we are not limited to standard shapes! For everything from flower-inspired shapes to geometrical styles that will turn your classic center stone into an eye-catching custom design, contact us this year to create a halo ring that is unique to you! Shown here are an octagon style halo around a blue sapphire and pink spinel set in a floral style bezel set halo.
3. Low-Profile Settings
More and more clients are gravitating to our lowest profile design, the invisible gallery! The perfect combination of fashion and function, this stemless feature allows your ring to sit securely flush to your finger, while still allowing a wedding band to sit flush! Whether you like a halo, hidden halo, or diamond wrap, this detail can be custom made to accommodate any of your favorite looks!
2. Colored Gemstone Rings
Colored gemstone rings are popping up all over our radar with celebrity-inspired styles (from the royal Windsor family to Lady Gaga!) showing off their distinctive beauties! At Lauren B, we have a vast colored stone inventory featuring everything from sapphires to garnets to tourmaline, any of which would make a gorgeous center piece for your custom ring. Diamond alternatives in general have been taking off of late, most notably moissanites so this color-stone option is most likely to follow suit.
1. Marquise Diamonds
Did you know that the marquise diamond shape was originally commissioned by King Louis XV to be cut in resemblance of his mistress’ lips? This shape has history, but is coming back in a big way! We think the large face-up spread and interesting shape will make marquise more popular in every style from halos to three-stone rings. Other elongated stones like ovals and pears have shot up in popularity of late and this even more elongated shape of marquise is sure to follow in their footsteps.
