Purchasing an Engagement Ring Remotely

Typically, shopping for an engagement ring involves visiting a physical store and holding the product in your hands. At Lauren B, we understand that might not always be possible if you’re not near our New York City showroom. That's why we offer the exciting option to remotely design your dream ring with one of our expert design consultants.

Step One: Selecting Your Center Stone Remotely

The first step in this process is choosing your center stone. With a variety of diamond shapes and cuts available, you can design a truly unique engagement ring. Our design consultants will happily guide you through the differences between shape vs. cut by providing detailed videos to assist in the diamond selection process.

All of our design consultants are trained to help you find the diamond or gem in our inventory to match your preferences. If what you are looking for is not in our exclusive inventory, we can source any diamond or gemstone for you! Once you select your center stone, you can then decide on the type of setting you prefer.

All of our diamonds are certified by the GIA, with lab-grown as well as natural diamonds available for purchase. Once you’ve made a decision on your desired stone and want to move forward in the design process, you can place it on a three-day exclusive hold (store closures & holidays are excluded) for a 10% deposit. After that, a design consultant will reach out about next steps.

Step Two: Customizing Your Setting Remotely

The second step in purchasing an engagement ring remotely is to consider the design of the ring that you want. One of the most unique aspects about working with Lauren B is that we can customize everything.

When customizing your setting, you can look through our Virtual Appointment Product Gallery and choose from designs we have already made or design something new entirely! Our design consultants are prepared to take on your project whether you bring in an inspiration image or if you’re not exactly sure what you would like. During your virtual appointment, your design consultant can show you our in-stock rings so you can better see the design aspects.

Step Three: Purchase, Production, & Delivery

At Lauren B, we believe purchasing your dream ring should be as seamless as the design process. We offer a variety of secure payment options, including all major credit cards, checks, money orders, wire transfers, and PayPal. We have additional options for payment that include financing and layaway plans. For more information about payment, you can read all about our financing options here.

If you purchased a customized engagement ring, we require a 50% deposit to start production. Once the deposit has been received, delivery is expected in approximately 3-4 weeks. However, if you’re doing a rush order, there will be a fee depending on the deadline.

Once your ring is ready, we have received the remainder of your deposit, and it has undergone our quality control process, then your design consultant will reach out by email where you will be able to see an HD video and photos of your finished ring. Your ring will then be shipped out either overnight or next-day delivery.

For a smooth delivery, we'll double-check your shipping address and confirm the estimated arrival date. Of course, we'll re-confirm with you beforehand to ensure that someone is there to receive your package.

Step Four: Ring Care

Keeping your engagement ring free of damage is fairly unlikely. However, there are ways you can minimize the harm. For example if you're active, we recommend removing your ring before working out to avoid sweat from getting into the ring or damaging the center stone and prongs with weights. If you use your hands a lot in your profession, for example doctors wear gloves a lot, we recommend opting for lower settings to minimize your ring getting caught in the fibers or rubber.

Ring maintenance is pretty simple. To clean your ring, soak it in a solution of warm water and mild dish soap or detergent for a few minutes. Then use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub away any extra dirt. You can follow this up by running it under warm water after.
